I am a self-proclaimed graphic novel LOVER and this graphic novel is quite literally EXACTLY why! The Deep Dark is a stunningly beautiful novel about self-identity and growth with illustrations that are out of this world and a plot that exceeds expectations. Molly Knox Ostertag is an icon of a graphic novelist and I will forever continue to read anything she writes. This story is a little dark, a little mysterious, a little profound, and all kinds of intoxicating! It is queer and BIPOC and a read that any young adult should experience!
